The course will be delivered virtually over the span of 6 weeks. The first segment is comprised of seven modules of asynchronous lectures, with each module hosting a sequence of video lectures and accompanying multiple-choice questions designed to evaluate comprehension. The concluding phase, spanning the final two weeks, will be dedicated to case discussions covering all seven topic areas. Led by section moderators, this interactive portion is specifically structured to foster engagement and audience participation, thereby facilitating a dynamic learning experience.
Target Audience: This course is intended for the practicing orthopaedic surgeon who takes emergency room or trauma call. Current techniques in orthopaedic care will be stressed with attention to appropriate soft tissue management and up–to–date implant selection. Case discussions will be used for interactive learning and audience participation. A limited number of knowledge assessment questions will be utilized to assess comprehension.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of the 2024 Virtual Orthopaedic Trauma Boot Camp, participants will be able to:
1. Review current indications for operative and non-operative treatment of fractures and dislocations.
2. Summarize the intraoperative techniques and complications related to simple and complex fracture management.
3. Demonstrate appropriate surgical techniques, approaches and implant selections for fracture care.

Instructional Format: Online video recordings consisting of recorded slides and audio accompanied by multiple-choice questions to assess comprehension. Two final weeks of discussion topics led by course chairs and section moderators covering all module topics.
Method of Participation: To participate in the activity, physicians will be required to take the following steps:
- Read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures.
- Participate in the activity.
- Complete the activity evaluation.
- Participants who successfully complete the evaluation will receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
